How do lessons work?
Online in Zoom, 60 minutes each: one-to-one, in a pair or in a group of four. We also use the interactive platform ProgressMe for materials, exercises and homework, and you can message me on Telegram between lessons.
What level do I need to start?
The programs start at B1 (Intermediate). If you're not sure of your level, we'll check it in the free consultation and choose a program together.
How long does IELTS preparation take?
It depends on where you start and the score you need. Raising your band by 0.5–1 usually takes 2–3 months at two lessons a week. We'll set an exact plan and timeline in the consultation.
IELTS Academic or General Training?
Academic is for university study and professional registration; General Training is usually for immigration and work. Speaking and Listening are the same in both, while Reading and Writing differ. I prepare students for both, and if you're not sure which you need, I'll help you work it out.
Can I study with a friend or sister?
Yes, in a pair or a group of four, with the same programs and platform. Each of you pays less than for a one-to-one lesson (see the prices under Learn in a pair or a group of four). You should be at about the same level. If one of you misses a lesson it still goes ahead, and I'll send her the recording with the materials and homework.
How often should I have lessons?
I recommend at least twice a week, which is where progress really shows. Closer to an exam you can have more, including 2-hour lessons.
How do I pay if I live abroad?
You can pay in roubles, dollars or euros. Payment is made before lessons start, monthly or as a discounted package. We'll agree the payment method that suits you in the consultation.
Can I reschedule a lesson?
Yes. With at least 12 hours' notice a one-to-one lesson moves at no charge; one cancelled later than that counts as taken. Pair and group lessons go ahead as scheduled, and anyone who misses one gets the recording.
What time zone are you in?
I'm in Bangkok (UTC+7, four hours ahead of Moscow) and teach students in Russia, Europe and Asia. We'll find times that fit your schedule.
Why do you teach women only?
It makes it easier for students to relax: they aren't afraid to make mistakes, ask questions and speak a lot, and that's what gets results.
What do I need for lessons?
A computer or tablet with Zoom, headphones with a microphone and a reliable internet connection. ProgressMe opens in your browser; I'll send you the link.
What happens in the free consultation?
We get to know each other, check your level, talk through your goals and timeline, and choose a program. There's no obligation.
